About this session

It has been 20 years since the State Library of Queensland was redeveloped by Donovan Hill and Peddle Thorp Architects, expanding the 1980s brutalist building by Robin Gibson and Partners to create one of Australia’s most cherished public spaces. To celebrate this anniversary, we will look back at the collaborative design process between the architects and the client. We will then unpack the impact that this redevelopment has had on public space and design practice in Brisbane and beyond.
