About this session
This course covers comprehensive wound assessments, wound aetiology classification, infection prevention and control principles, documentation best practices including clinical photography, and factors influencing wound healing. It includes an overview of Aged Care Standards compliance requirements and culturally safe wound care respecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples' values and beliefs.
Learning Outcomes
Conduct comprehensive wound assessments and formulate accurate diagnoses. Identify and classify common wound aetiologies. Apply infection prevention and control principles to wound care. Understand documentation best practices, including clinical photography. Demonstrate awareness of factors influencing wound healing and Aged Care Standards compliance.

ACN members $500.00, Non-members $550.00. Scholarships available for First Nations people (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Workers and Health Practitioners) through the Wound Care Short Courses Scholarship.
Speaker Biography
Hayley Ryan is an internationally recognised Clinical Nurse Consultant with over 20 years of experience specialising in advanced wound care. Since 2016, she has led WoundRescue Pty Ltd, advancing equitable access to specialist wound care through in-home, telehealth and digital pathways across Australia and New Zealand.
