About this session

A series of four bespoke in-house training workshops on Mental Health First Aid tailored for legal professionals and workplaces. Modules cover standard MHFA for legal professionals, workplaces, community, and refresher courses for accredited MHFAiders, with content addressing depression, anxiety, psychosis, substance use, suicidal thoughts, eating disorders, panic attacks, and traumatic events.

Module 1 - Standard MHFA for Legal Professionals

12-hour course covering mental health problems and crisis situations in the legal profession including depression, anxiety, psychosis, substance use, suicidal thoughts, eating disorders, panic attacks, and traumatic events. Blended delivery options: Face-to-Face (6-24 people) or Online (6-12 people). Includes 5-7 hours eLearning plus 4-hour face-to-face or 5-hour video-conferencing session.

Module 2 - Standard MHFA for Workplaces

Equips employees with skills to support someone experiencing mental health problems. Covers depression, anxiety, psychosis, substance use, suicidal thoughts, panic attacks, and traumatic events. Similar blended delivery structure with online self-paced eLearning followed by face-to-face or video-conferencing sessions.

Learning Outcomes

Participants will recognize warning signs of mental health problems, respond to crisis situations, use evidence-based action plans, offer support, reduce stigma, and apply self-care practices. Complete short assessment to receive 3-year MHFAider accreditation.
