Covers recognition and assessment of heart failure, key medicines and their mechanisms, guideline-directed therapy, clinical challenges, and the pharmacist's role in optimising patient outcomes across hospital, primary care, and community settings.
Session Details
Tuesday 20 October 3 - 4pm (repeated on Thursday 29 October 1 - 2pm). Open to NZHPA members with an active Early Career Pharmacist subscription only. The Early Career Pharmacists group is open to pharmacists qualified less than 5 years, or new to hospital practice (started less than 2 years ago). Subscription is free.
What Will Be Covered
How to recognise and assess acute and chronic heart failure; Key medicines used in heart failure and how they work; Guideline-directed therapy and where newer agents fit in practice; Common clinical challenges and practical prescribing considerations; The pharmacist's role in optimising patient outcomes across the continuum of care.
