About this session
Three researchers from the Centre for Automotive Safety Research at Adelaide University will share current developments in road infrastructure safety, event data recorder technology, and in-depth crash investigation. The session covers safer road network planning, black box technology for vehicles, and how engineering data and crash investigation integrate to improve road safety outcomes.
Learning Outcomes
Overview of infrastructure work on safer roads including network safety planning and individual treatments; understanding event data recorders (black boxes) and what they reveal about crashes; overview of in-depth crash investigation program and linkages between data sources from site investigations, police reports, hospital and coroner reports.
